The Comptroller of Customs, working in close co-operation with the Attorney General, last week issued a STOP LOADING directive to a log vessel which was reported loading 10,000 Cubic Metres of Tubi at Korona in Isabel. The Directive was issued pending an action brought by the AG in the Court of Appeal against an earlier High Court decision concerning the Tubi.

Last Friday 19th November 2021, the Court of Appeal issued a Stay Order pending a future trial on the matter. As a result, the shipping agent was directed by the Comptroller last Saturday to offload all Tubi already loaded from the vessel.  This task has now been completed and the Comptroller has granted permission for the vessel to continue its’ log run to load and export legitimately harvested logs.
